Picked this up at a flea market this morning.
[Linked Image]
I was told it was a hole trap. Maker unknown
71/2" jaw spread. It looks to be all original, nothing stamped on it anywhere.
Never saw one like it before so I bought it
Any ideas?

I have one also Wetdog. You are indeed missing parts. Mine is missing parts too but not as many as you! [Linked Image]

Not exactly the same but close in configuration.

I did a little research but have no idea where my trap was made.
It appears it was made in France. Trapper Dan's trap is from France and is missing the pan
Hippi does your pan have any identity markings on it? Thanks for the pic, now I can make a pan for it

Nope, no markings at all on this trap. I'd say the wood was replaced and I'm not sure about the trigger. If trigger was replaced, it was done many moons ago.

The wood part is about 5" dia.

I have one that stumps me. Says Nash Mile trap on it, but this thing is big enough to catch Mink and Muskrats in.
Maybe they have a different mole than we do because there ain't no way a mole could set this trigger off that I can figure.

Any help for me?

Hippie, that is a nash mole trap. Possibly for European moles which are larger than ours.

Thanks!
They must be bigger because ours could dance a jig on the trigger.

They are triggered when the mole pushes the dirt up which pushes the trigger up and sets off the trap. All but the wires are above ground. I have used them, without a lot of success but that's how they are supposed to work. I think they can still be bought new, not very long ago they were.

Hippi did you ever set that gin trap? Your trigger gap(from top to bottom) seems rather big.
Just curious because mine is only a 11/4" gap.

Mines just #11 wire for now, I'll make a nicer one in the future.
Thanks
