So the phone rings and it's a rancher who has his deer being eaten by coyotes in this wondrous 100+ degree Texas heat. I am of no assistance as I'm back to class but the Mrs. is up to the challenge! She says, "I'll catch them." Day one check, nabs a grey fox. Coyotes... run and hide! Brutal trapping this time of year. Maybe beyond brutal. Blessings! Mark

She was texting me prints of a coyote today and asking me my opinion, but in all honesty, she had everything set up 110%. I was sure proud of my Polish gal. She tracked a dog down to some water and set up two smokin good sets (sneaker) in their approach pinch-point, and asked what I thought. I told her I hope they got outta the high fence before she came in. They're prolly already jerking on chains. I told her she's gonna start teaching, to which she politely said nada.

It'll be 101 actual today with heat index around 110, so she prolly wishes it was cool. She says thank you for the encouraging words y'all. This time of year, the adults are in full mode with new pups oftentimes, so they are an erratic bunch, but Ms. Donna is a hard working, determined trapper! Stay tuned. Mark

So, no coyotes on the "small for Texas" 100 acre high fence ranch in three checks. No more tracks, and no more action, except a boar raccoon. So late last night, the folks call and ask Donna if she could go on the property next door since that neighbor saw a "pack" of coyotes three days ago... maybe that's the bad hombres. Donna said she'll look it all over and make a plan, but if it calls for too much effort, the price goes up.
Gotta love trapping.
Oh and the next 4 days call for storms.
Hope she connects soon. She IS determined.
Blessings, Mark

Well, the bad hombre in the 100 acre pen is no more. Ms. Donna may look a bit excited as he was playing hide and seek this week. We have a saying in coyote predator trapping work. They all get caught. Some just take longer than others! The good gals always win, and this dog is about to meet Mr. Lee's death ray up close. WTG Ms. Donna. PS. She wanted this hombre really bad, so she may look excited.

Nice catch! Middle of the road sets are great as long as the land owners can get around a caught critter and that critter isn't a badger. Lol
