The way the dollars are being handed out and no way to pay off the debt are some of you thinking of getting into another currency? The Canadians on here can chime in with faith in their dollar, I am thinking of getting into a digital currency ETF?

Canada's credit rating is worse than ours. Buy silver.

I am thinking we need to keep currency . There is a few leaders that would like us all to use electronic money, and there is a whole economy that exists on cash, and that should be alright. There is no reason why we should all have to be the same, kept track of and accountable when we aren't t all equal to begin with.

Humans existed for centuries by barter. We can do it again. Money is relatively new.

Beans, bullets, bandaids. Gold and silver only work in a semi civilized society. In a chaos filled wasteland announcing you'd like to buy things with them is a quick way to get killed. On the positive side, trappers would probably have a huge surge in demand for pelts as manufactured winter clothing becomes largely unavailable.

Nope, I still have faith in the American Dollar.

Economies progress and change if they don't, they die. Let's stop being scared of change and take advantage of it.

I've been thinking about this turn of events for years. Gold and silver are great, but I also think it is a great idea to have a fair amount of cash on hand. ATM's are often the first thing to go during a panic, and banks are not prepared these days to hand out alot of cash. Gold/silver/barter are great options after the start if you know the right people to do business with, but when you want to buy gas or some food, who is going to make change on a $2,000 gold coin?

Just a thought.

Pete

Chicken eggs became “currency” in Venezuela.

Beans, bullets, and bandaids seem more practical in the current environment.
