Make a small fire , pour bacon grease in it . Add castor , anise , other attractants . The smell from that smoke will travel a long ways.

I'm baiting right on the edge of a big woods environment and agricultural land. One of my best sites is 150 yards from my cabin door. Daytime bear, nighttime bear, bear 24/7. Big bear, little bear and everything in between. I started off with seven 55 gallon drums of bait and I'm down to two. Any heavy odor that you can get on the wind that will withstand the elements will bring in the bear. I like molasses, anise oil, bacon/fryer grease. All of that works. All good tips guys have mentioned about. Good luck, 330. I'm rooting for ya.

5 gallon pail, Popcorn, fryer grease, cup of molasses, pouch of jello. If you have anything else add it in. Once corn silks out, acorns drop, protein is available it gets difficult. My family and friends have harvested many bears due to scents. My favorite is one of my wife's bear. Bears quit hitting baits, so I was giving her a different scent each night. I was running out of options. The bear were full of acorns and corn. Bowhunting the bears would come in sniff around and leave. This one paused just long enough, came in smelled the scent and was leaving when she got the shot off. When we dressed it out it's stomach was stuffed with acorns solid! It did not come to eat just check out the scent. One year I had access to produce. Each bait the bears liked different produce so I started sorting it. Strange but true. Bait have you contacted Lucky 7 in Cambridge?

I had 7 big beavers de castored and ready to take out to the bush parked by the shop last night. Was not going to be surprised if they got raided with all the bear issues in the neighbourhood this August. Found them untouched this morning.

We cannot use whole beaver carcasses. No bones allowed in bait I guess the DNR doesn't want bears to choke???
No more than 25% of carcass (no bones) maybe used.
That makes no sense to me. I'd like to hear the reasoning behind that decision.

What in the... no bones in bear bait??? Does it have to be properly refrigerated and cooked too, so they don't get parasites?? Does the MN DNR provide de-boned meat for the bears during the rest of the year too??
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

Way worse regulations in Wisconsin then that. We can’t use anything that contains animal byproducts. Can’t use honey and no man made bait sites as in no barrels or lids or plywood covers. Has to be all natural and Has to be covered
