How accurate are the standard Iron Sights that come with the Remington 7600 and the Browning Model 81 BLR Rifles ?

It depends on how much you can focus on the front sight post. Sight alignment is the clear tip of the front sight posts perfectly centered in the rear sight aperture. The rear sight should be hazy.

it has a lot more to do with how good at using iron sights you are

I can't speak to the browning but the Remington sights are fairly typical front round with a elevator and windiage screw in the back

good enough to get a 3-4 inch group at 100 yards , maybe a touch better but it has a lot more to do with the user

remember one of the most deadly snipers was using a finish M28 and scoring hits from hundreds of yards with open sights more user than sight.

before I put a scope on I shot a little steel at 200 yards

I prefer a peep and post I dislike round front sights

if I didn't put a scope on the Remington a new square post and peep in the rear would have been my choice . longer sight radius often does more than the sight it's self.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Forgot to say the the target should be hay also when using iron sights the ony thing that is in total focus is the front sight. And like Pete said iron sights can be deadly when used by a competent, lets say user.

The BLR sights are IMO some of the best open sights on factory rifles today. They are tough sights too.

do unto others as you would have them do unto you

When my father purchased his Remington 30.06 in 1955, he had a peep sight installed. That was reflective to the Garand he shot in WW2.

He killed a lot of deer with that Remington 740. One I know was over 300 yards away. He always told me, "look through that peep and center the front sight on your target."

If I’d ever go back to open sights, it would be with a rear peep. That botched read stuff is not my cup of tea. In terms of accuracy, the gang has already discussed it with valid points.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."
