I see the firepits with the high sides that you can't see the fire or feel the heat when it's cool. That offends me.

I turned mine into a smoker/cooker with a homemade lid. First picture is 30 pound turkey (halved) second is with bear meatloaf, bear loin roast and pork ribs with baked potatoes. Don't have a picture of it but makes a wicked candied yams with marshmallow toppin' too.

actually 6 fire pits of different types here.as a landscapin stone harvestor of all types i've sure drug a pile a stone home over the years.
