Anybody tried these on deer? Federal sells them already loaded retail for about 30 bucks a box of 20. Of course their reveiws are all wonderfull. A box of 50 bullets is 38 bucks including shipping. So not a cheap handload either. I figure with all the hunting/gun nuts on TMan should be a few that have tried them on game.

I have not tried them but I have tried the tsx bullets. They went all the way through for me but they don't leave much of a hole for blood the leak out of. I recovered the couple deer we shot with them but there was not much if any of a blood trail. Both deer went down inside of 100 yards. Had they not been real good shots it may not have ended with a recovery.

wish we could here-we have to be minimum. 244 to shoot at deer with them-They hold together great out of my 6mm though.I am thinking they would be very good-depending upon how fast you are pushing them as well.

I have used the 100gr partition bullets in .243 for deer and they are outstanding. I have not tried them in 22-250, but I have killed a load of deer with 60gr Hornady SP in 22-250. I would guess, the partition bullets in your 250 would be a fine choice.

I reloaded some last year for my 22-250 and they worked good. Killed 3 deer. All behind the shoulder pass thru shots. Did a lot of internal damage but not a great blood trail. However, none ran over 75-100 yards. This is a pic of exit hole from one. Next year I’ll probably shoot one high on the shoulder to see if it will break both shoulders and anchor the deer. I feel confident it will.

My grandson has taken several deer with this bullet. None ran away. Most DRT. It is about bullet placement.

Those of you using the 60 partition are you finding they stabilize fine in a 1:12 twist barrel or are you using a faster twist?

It's a great bullet design, used the 165 grain .308 to kill a good many deer all one shot stops.

My plan is to get my grandson in close and let him shoot a deer with one. We need a little more practice first. I loaded a few last night to try out on paper but it is flat windy today. Wont be able to get good groups no matter what I do. Things are pricey enough I dont want to shoot just to hear a bang.

I appreciate all the feed back

Coonman 300 I like what I see in your picture. How far away was that deer?

I would sling one at a deer no problem. I havent used a partition but i have used some of their 64gr bonded protected point, the new fancy fbi approved bullet they have. It worked great on an old doe last year, 10 yards and piled up. Bullet did its job plus some. Now i see they dont sell that bullet anymore as a component. I still have a few left. I am switching to the speer gold dot 62? grain bullet. Loaded some up and they did great on paper. We will see how they work this year. The gold dot bullet was available (and is sometimes now) before the nonsense as a component.

Have used the nosler partitions, for a long time for deer, hand loaded. 100 grain for 243 and 180 grain for 308, deer and moose. Shot placement is important, whatever you use. old243

I’ve heard they won’t stabilize in a .222 but I saw several kids take deer with them with a 22-250, no problem.

I think this one would be close enough for him. If I can find it again lol

I loaded some Sierra 63 grain for a friend in WV, in a 22-250 model 788. He and his boys only used that gun, they killed a bunch of deer, claimed they dropped in there tracks.

My rifle is a 12 twist and it groups very well. This was a four shot group. Pulled one of them. Partitions are not known for great accuracy but I’ve had very good luck with them.

Danny, that shot was just over 200 yards.

The 60gr nosler partition do fine on deer as do the 224 tsx bullets.
