Nope one of my cousins killed a big buck real close to where his dad was cutting a load of wood. He got pretty mad cause his dad wouldn't believe he had deer down that close to him and wouldn't help get the deer out.

I have hunted deer for almost 60 years and there is a lot of difference in deer that are in their home area and a buck thats just cruising . Cruisers are much easier to kill but its a lot more luck if they will show

Heck in the winter they'll make a B line to the sound of a chainsaw. I've seen this happen.

Heck in the winter they'll make a B line to the sound of a chainsaw. I've seen this happen. Buddy of mine and I killed two after cutting camp wood about 400 yards from where the saw was running. I think they like to browse the tender buds at the tree’s tops. Chainsaw sounds like a dinner bell. Mulies in the Kiabab northern Arizona.

Nope. I just an hour ago felled a big oak and cut it into big chinks using a rather loud and big saw. Banging wedges to trop it where I wanted it. I sat down on one of the big limbs contemplating how to proceed when a velvet buck walked by me not 5 years away with not a care in the world. I had turned the saw off one minute prior. I did not hear him coming as I still had my plugs in or I would have taken a picture.

In northern states many times the sound of a chainsaw means food! Yep. Up here, cutting down birch trees is the best way to get a yard full of moose.

Ya but your not cutting down trees during the rut. We mange 140 acres of prime deer country. And once the food plots are In we only go In a few times to check the trail cams. But for the most part we don't even hunt It till the rut Is In full swing.
