honestly i'm way more paranoid than that--but don't tell no one.

couple years ago when size didn't matter to me i'd a said it helps if anything.drop a half dozen bigger poplars here and you could fill a truck with doe feedin on em before dark.

like anything else its whatever ya like i guess.

If you went in there and cut wood everyday of the week they would be used to it. Rut or no rut.

You'd be better off going there at the very least once a week and working in the woods. They will get used to you. The more your in there the better.

Staying away will make them more wary when you do show up.

I'm out in my small 20 acre woodlot at least 4-5 times a week. They don't care. I have walked up on bedded deer countless times. They have even remained bedded till I change course and headed to them. And then I have to get within 30 yards or so before they get up. Bucks and does both. Oh, and they behave differently when I'm alone vs when its me and the wife. They know the difference and its not "normal" so they spook easier.

The more they see you and realize your not a threat the less they care.

In my opinion it's to vague of a question for a good answer. A lot of variables to consider. Young deer act differently than older deer, hunting pressure affects how sensitive the deer are, whether deer associate chainsaws with food, how hungry are the deer, how close to bedding area activities are, entrance and exit paths and ect.

Cutting dead trees one time, and dropped a good sized one right in front of a game camera. Video showed several deer eating on the poison ivy 1/2 hour after I left and throughout the next few days. After a couple of days there was only the vines left right next to the tree. All the leaves and stems had been eaten. I am allergic to poison ivy, so now I drop the trees loaded with poison a good week before cutting them up.

Yep. Up here, cutting down birch trees is the best way to get a yard full of moose.

I drive the tractor and four wheeler around on my property, cut down trees and 300 yards from the food plot to be in my shooting range. I still have deer on my trail camera and bobcat, songdogs, coons, possums, turkey and bear. I am not overly worried that I can't get my venison into the kitchen to be honest.
