I sold a few American silver eagles today, first time I have sold silver. I got a buck and half over spot. It certainly acts like a commodity, liquid if you have some. Sort of like selling fur. Nice to have in a pinch... If I could find some ASEs for 1.50 over spot today I'd be a buyer not a seller. If your happy we are all happy.

Yeah, I wasn't planning to sell but got in a weird bind with my "allowance" and needed some liquidity. A little silver ended up being the ticket. I don't plan to make it a habit.

I wonder what rummage sale people would say if a guy showed up with the jewelers eye-piece and went through all their junk jewelry...? I've tried looking hard (not with a jewelers eye piece) at jewlery stuff at some rummages but I've always been a bit self-conscious. Maybe I just need to get past that part of my personality but I'm sure rummage sales are being looked over hard by determined people, especially with gold bobbing around 2k an ounce...

Bob, I should have clarified I mean 10 oz Englehard poured bars. The hundred oz poured bars generally don't carry the collector premiums a 10 oz poured bar does.
