My favorite round for many uses.

Just in "short" supply right now, or gone for good?

The only .22 shells in the local Thiesen's last Saturday were 2 boxes of shorts.

I just bought a brick of cci hp shorts a week ago. They had several. $40 is a little high but what's not a little high priced these days?

found some available in round nose but not hollow point.

short supply shorts are more likley to get made when everything else isn't so crazy much like the seasonal runs of less popular cartridges.

the country is on fire , 2020 is on pace that probably by the end of September more guns than any other year in US history will have been sold with october , november and december left

June had 3.9 million Nics background searches March was 3.6 million , july 3.6 million. the slump April durring lock down had 2.9 mil

the highest month on record previous to this year was Dec 2015 3.3 mill 9 of the 12 months of 2015 were under 2 million.

in 2020 2.7million was the lowest in Jan 2.8 mill in Feb and 2.9 mill in april with everything shut down

In that case, I may resume my quest for a Remington 510, 511 or 512 to shoot them in. I grew up with a 510 that is still at the farm and still being used to dispatch varmints and train a whole slew of shooters that are now great grandchildren of the original owner, my dad.

$4+ a box does seem a bit silly. Price sticker of 97 cents still stuck to bottom of box of 22 LR I'm using to dispatch with now. But good to hear they are still available at $4 a box. Have been keeping an eye out at a few places, and cupboard has been bare. 22 LR in abundance.......shorts non-existent.

I let the guy at the gun store talk me into buying an ammo can of fiocchi 22lr 40gr copper plated rn. It was just about all that was left besides some aguila junk. Not gonna talk about how much it was. But 1575 rounds of it should last me a little while. Luckily it turned out to be pretty good ammo, I like it. Cycles great from my ruger mark 4

The gun store said he has had cases of cci 22 on order for weeks now and as soon as one or two show up they are gone by close. He couldnt say when they were gonna get a restock of ammo on about anything other than high end hunting ammo.

Aguila is the best Quietest .22 I've ever heard / or Not heard for .revolvers and single shots

It was never made for semi autos!^

CCI Quiet from a 21 inch barrel or longer is very quiet dispatched a coon with my neighbor watching and he asked if that was some kind of pellet gun , it was so quiet .

40gr at 710fps is the claim an air stapler is louder

from a 26 inch barrel the firing pin makes virtually all the noise

the CCI is loaded with LR cases and they feed in everything I have tried can not tell the difference looking at them forma CCI standard velocity cartridge , you just have to hand cycle the bolt on any semi auto

True. 99.999% of the time. Will not cycle a semi auto action.

However , there are a just a few rifles that will do this. I have a Remington model 24 - semi auto that is chambered in .22 short. It will cycle .22 shorts reliably. It is an old gun (75yo ? ), rumor has it they were made for gun galleries back in the day.
I learned about this gun from Rob Erickson in his skunk book. He uses it for ADC skunk control on golf courses at night. His state like some do not allow for suppressed firearms and this is one of the quietest things that can be used in his area. The way it is used is a golf cart is used to chase down the skunks one person driving , one person targeting the skunk. Semi-auto allows for quick follow up shots.

You can't shoot those quiet long rifles in my Beretta Minx .22 short only. Also Winchester 74 in short only. wink

A couple years ago, I found some 22 Longs at a gun show. Remember those?

Aguilla is some of the best rimfire ammo out there.

Anguilla is good rimfire ammo and they don't just make the quiet rounds they also make standard velocity long rifles and so super hot long rifles that give cci stingers a run for thier money.
