Lookin forward to this years convention as always!

This year, I am working on putting together a trapping book and would appreciate all the stories/thoughts anyone can share regarding trapping. It will be unlike any other trapping book I've seen. Instead of being an exclusive instruction or how to book, it will be more of a collection of stories or thoughts from real trappers themselves, from every stage, whether it's a beginner trapper, a young kid, advanced level, an old timer and everything in between. One thing that I have found in this community, is that we all try to raise up the next generation.

The book will be filled with snippits of partial stories/experiences of various trappers and a photograph to go along with. Kind of like a consensus of the trappers in today's world, if that makes sense. My goal is to get quite a few short stories with a photo over the next few years, state and national conventions, and get togethers.

If ya see me walkin around at the convention, come say hi, I'd really appreciate hearing a story or two...you might end up in the book wink
(Also, yes I can include stories from those who have passed and left a legacy in the trapping community. Also, those who can't make it to the convention, PM me about how to be included in the book. I need as many trappers as I can)

Thats the way this book is done. Unfortunately the binding is poor quality and all the pages are loose. Be careful who you hire to make the book.

I need to look into finding a company that will repair this one. I dont think very many still exist.

P.S. Mike DiSalvo AKA Miketraps2 put that one together. You might ask him about it . I think he would have some good advice. He has written quite a few stories for Fur Fish and Game among others. Would not surprise me even a little if he would share a tale or three with you.

Make sure you have express permission to use the stories in the book. Maybe just a sheet of paper they can sign to give you permission to use the stories. Sounds like a fun idea but be sure you don't get in a jam later on.

I believe Mike DiSalvo put together the Trapperman.com Book Volume II. The first book, which is what you have and is rare, was put together by Kyle Kaatz. I may be wrong, because an old man's memory isn't a good as it use to be.

You can still order the second book through the NTA or MTP -

Good luck young lady on your project!

Yes, I have Volume II book. but that is still a collection of "how to's"....Mine will be strictly stories with many photographs of people.

The difference between winners and losers, is that winners do things losers aren't willing to do.
Excuses aren't for winners. . . that's reserved for losers.
Never let others define who you are or what you can become.
Follow your dream.
You will go far !

I meant no disrespect in my words. It is hard to tell of one's writing background when we don't know each other at all.
I will take into account your suggestion, it is always good to cover all the bases.
