Anyone still looking might try “canninglid.com”. They sell Ball brand and have discounts for larger orders.

Their prices seem high to me. Friend of mine is plant manager at one of the glass factories here, said they just added five more canning jar lines. Each one produces a little over 250 jars a minute, 24/7. Said their other factories can't keep up with demand. They will start producing the half gallon size as soon as it cools off a little.

I bought a bunch of small, odd sized jars for the lids too.

We were just given about 180 old canning jars. Most are probably considerably older than me and I'm 50. Some are so thick, you could probably lay a guy out with one, with a quick blow to the head, without cracking the jar.

We bought more jars just for the lids as well. We did get some seals at the local amish dry goods store. My wifes friend is a flower farmer and puth her flower arrangements in canning jars with a bow made of twine. She has no use for the lids and seals and gives them to us. That was a life saver this season.

All kinds of jars around here, but now lids or pint freezer bags. I am glad I have enough. During the off season I can stock up again. Glad I did last year but won't make another season without finding more lids and pint bags.

I never do.Canning is too much work to take the chance of not sealing. My wife and I did up 24 cases of pints, including corn, carrots, green beans, mushrooms and salsa.Apple pie filling is next.Oh yea,,also blanched and froze 25 lbs. of brussel sprouts.

I saw this coming when there was a run on garden seed and plants here. I had lids from last season but went and bought 40 dozen when no one had planted a seed yet. I also bought enough seed for the garden or next year too. There will be a shortage of all those things this spring I believe. I have an apple tree and pears yet to do and to can some meat and I will be done. I will have filled 400 jars by the end. LLL
