I have the 5D tactical pro jig with a makita router. Have done 2 so far. I like it very easy to use. I cant even think of a way a person could mess up using it.

Well depends on what state you live in if there legal or not.Im using 5 d tactical and a drill press for the holes but you don’t need a drill press.just be certain when you order your 5 d jig that your getting the right set up for your router mine was on the list but the model I had was built slightly different even tho being the same model number luckily my son had a same model and the router plate fit.Ive built 3 ar 15 and bought the ar 10 add in and we just completed a 308. You won’t be disappointed just make shallow cuts and plan on about an hour and a half start to finish.

The 5D is the way to go I have used others and since getting the 5D I could not imagine going back to the others with drilling multiple holes before routing.

As 70sdiver says take shallow cuts and plan on at lease an hour per lower. Also make sure to clean out the chips between passes. Makes for cleaner end results.

I used a jig from daytona tactical and some cheap end mill bits from ebay on my drill press. It worked ok. Took longer than hour and half. Gotta go slow. THat jig from 5g looks a lot better but more $ too.
