Does anyone have info on this head. It’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen. It is cool. [Linked Image]

Got pics from other angles? That looks like it could be a lifting or possible hanging wedge.

Lifting wedges are used in felling to drive into the saw kerf to help stop the tree from setting back onto the saw and/or give lift the help the tree start the fall in the desired direction. Modern ones are usually plastic or aluminum due to the use of chain saws.
Hanging wedges are shorter and wider usually with a tie ring on the side so they can be used in pairs. Used in bucking logs they are driven across a kerf to prevent the two sides from moving or pinching the saw blade.

Heat treated it has to be a splitting wedge, possibly for cedar shakes or rails.

It is a felling wedge used with the old cross cut saws. I have quite a few, found with my metal detector in old logging camps. Before chain saws.
