Was checking out u joints an watch u tube vid of what do an how check, as hear some noises sometimes. Probly tires overinflated a couple pounds an warm weather , shocks worn but not completly worn out on front. Is noise. U joints an rubber an cups look good, out I'm neutral, no play W hen try wiggle up an down by hand, the whole transfer case move a little when try to see if play by move by hand, on u joint an driveshaft. Can u damage transfer case by doing this ? If move end drive shaft up an down to see if play. By hand on transfer case end ? I had fluid in case change awhile ago, transfer cases are very expensive. Also does anyone know what normal for what clutch engages if have master clutch cylinder, how far pedal goes out bfore engage. Mine is at least last 3/4 out , bfore start engage

Transfer case will move due to the mount having a rubber block in it. Best way to check u joints is just pull the drive shaft. Try moving the u joints on each end and see if they're binding. Be careful not to knock the caps off and lose the needle bearings.

Oh that why transfer case move. That won't do nothing to it, front u joint look exellent. Back. One more rust but caps in right position. Rubber good, an tight no play by rear end. Try figgure out as todsy I downshift to 4 th an noise. But not do it after work, maybe something on road a piece metal hit or was truck noise but not do it nomore, unless clutch act up

You won't be able to see if the u joints are bad. Are they greasable?

You just need to find yourself a full time mechanic Dave. You've got the worst luck of anyone I've encountered since I've been alive.

I had an early Ford Ranger that use to eat u joints back in the 80s.The bottom one always goes first since thats where more torque is- or so Im told. Havent had any problems before or since with a u joint. From what I remember you will know when they are bad from serious vibration and should be able to make it home if your not too awful far away from home.

On Tman, the correct spelling is vechile. Been that way awhile now.
Generally the U-joint that sits at the most angle wears the worst. And yes, you can find slack by wiggling the driveshaft, if they're bad enough to be making noise. They generally start out squeaking when they run out of grease long before you can feel it.

I know I'm paranoid......but am I paranoid ENOUGH???

And a lot of times that squeak is more evident in reverse at low speeds. Like backing out of parking spots.

Are you seriously going to do a lot of trapping Dave? Coon? Mink? Rats?

Have as much fun as you can afford. Gary G. will be running a route right before Christmas and then a clean up route in Feb. or March. Betting make sure your freezers are working. LLL

I've isolated the squeaky uj by spraying them one at a time until the squeak stopped.

I gave you this advice many years ago, and you'd be a lot of money ahead if you'd listened back then. "Turn up the radio, ignore any little things you hear or feel, drive the thing until it actually breaks, then, and only then, spend the money to fix it." smile

More importantly you should see a doctor about all your worrying and stress. Seriously, the stress you put yourself through over trivial matters is very bad for you. You're literally worrying yourself to death. A doctor could prescribe an anti-anxiety medication that would greatly improve your outlook and your life. I've seen it do wonders for people.

Does anyone actually know Dave personally? One has to assume there's a little bit of a play going on here.

A tree just fell on my trapping truck, and let me tell ya, it needed a lot of work BEFORE the tree hit it. I still drive it around and Im not the least bit worried,,,,,I know guys with trailers. I will get my daughter to put pics on soon. 500 or so trees on my property and the one beside my truck is the only one that fell.

Do front shocks make noise or what kind noise when drive around 5-25mph on city streets with not best street, but not bad. When hit the line on road for section pavement ,? it uneven surface, no coil springs on Front end just shocks. Shocks , end may W hen got tires, align an say front end tight. Shocks worn but not enough cause tire cupping
