Each time I read AOC's comments, I can understand her sincerity to reduce poverty in our nation, but am baffled by people like her and other socialists, who advocate for a manner to do it, that has never worked.

Her comments yesterday; "And after we work to command victory in November, I need folks to realize that there’s no going back to brunch.
We have a whole new world to build. We cannot accept going back to the way things were, & that includes the Dem party. We must deliver transformative, material change."

.... sounds like typical socialist rally speak.

Further tyranny from a government, whether it is in the name of "the people (they always say the same worn out lie)," or not, isn't the answer. I think our forefathers were more insightful than we imagine, because they saw the opposite, the individual as the key to God's plan here on earth. Not the government. So the tug a war continues... those who would have a government rule all (AOC and many others), or those who have individuals rule themselves under a freedom banner known as America. We are the last nation on earth that stands as we do. The last. I hope we can last a little while longer as one Nation, under God, for our generations to come.

The concept of socialism doesn't take into account the laziness of mankind at the bottom end of th spectrum and the corruptiblity of mankind at the top end of the spectrum. Those two facts are why it is unsustainable.

You left out a few Mark. Especially a real biggie, FDR. Americans lost more freedom during FDR's watch than any other president.

God HAS blessed America, and if we forget that, or worse, reject that, we are in big trouble.

and I believe that Jesus demonstrated that concept. He did NOT protest in Rome to insist that the secular government take care of the sick and the poor. He pointed to the religious people and directed them to do so. I believe that God, Himself created America for His purposes. I just pray that we are still useful to His ends. If so, He will ensure things work out. If we've strayed too far, we are doomed.

Spot on danny. It was all about the votes and FDR was the master innovator on how to give away stuff to get what would keep them as rulers.
Americans live his dream still, only the rush to give away - that which is confiscated by laws from others - is being ramped up at Star Trek warp speed it seems.

You beat me to it.

If there is a blessing in the Covid-19, it is that there has been a reassessment of old, worn out, moldy, methods that have been in place for some time. While the people grumble (that's not news), more eyes, ears, and hearts have been awakened to the fact that some floor boards needs to be ripped up, some walls scrubbed clean, and people tossed out of their self-righteous temples. Game on! And I'm not talking football.

May God Bless those who labor for His ways, not their selfish own.
