My bear are coming in erratic...but still some good daytime opportunities.
I'm sitting now 3:20 PM in very gusty SE wind. I just feel you can't kill a bear sitting on th couch.

Maybe a change up [Linked Image]

20mph

I just put on my safety harness

Might not see a bear but at 73° it's beautiful night to hunt.

Iowa,
Hunted and helped in northern Minn. One night super windy no one going to sit in tree, I accompanied 15 yo girl on a hunt. We had to wait for downed tree to be cut before we made it to the bait. We were sitting on the ground and I dozed off. I got elbowed hey you're snoring. Lol I whispered you have the gun. Closed my eyes, got elbowed again, opened my eyes wow that's a nice bear standing on the bait. It walked off, circled and she drilled it when it returned. 265 field dressed,. Boy did the guys get a ribbing for not hunting that night !

I've had pics of 4 ( not cubs) on a bait before but never 5 until this year.
Got a series of pics of 5 ( no cubs) when we had a storm come thru 2 weeks ago.
Winds were 60+ when the pic was taken.
Branches n debris flying in front of the cam.

I'd rather hunt in a strong wind then a calm one.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Iowa,
Lol, no spears or wrist rockets. I was just pleased to do it with various weapons. Most have been head shots with 12 ga slugs. I'm meat hunting, most gets pressure canned. Gonna try render my own bear grease this year. In the past I had lady who would render for half. She passed away. Any suggestions on rendering ? Was planning to use roaster set on low settings. Did I mention I really like bear hunting.

Bear Hunting is Great And Addicting.

Render it on a camp stove outside.
