Youngest son in law and my baby have a hanger in Wishek. We are driving so we are going to stay in the hanger. Funny thing--my youngest son in law is an air plane mechanic and owns a plane, and at 69 I have never been in a plane. Like to keep both feet on the ground or in the water. Tom

Well he will sure know where the birds are/were being a pilot. Just figure there are 5000 hunters not getting into Manitoba so you may have company. Was that area effected by the heavy snows last year and the corn only gone done this year= therefor no crops in a lot of fields now.
Good luck Tom are you going to borrow one of Rally's dogs to get some non-pheasant feathers in it's mouth

What I have heard from sportsmen and some farmers in the area is MN hunters have ruined it for them. I've had the same experience in Montana with MN outdoorsman. In fact just 2 weeks ago. Always have to be a trouble maker in the bunch.

Now I have been told not to say I am from Minnesota and Wisconsin--by the time I go I am sure MT and surrounding states will be added. Hard when asking permission, not to say where you are from, especially when your states license plate gives you away. I guess my only hope is they have pitty on an old trapper. Tom

Tom It doesnt matter where your from, There either going to let you on or not. Where you live doesnt have much to do about it. I have live and or hunted N.D. my whole life and can truly say I have never had a problem with nonresidents.

!lessdog, thanks for the positive reply.Looking for a memory filled hunt, as you get older, you never know if it may be your last. Northof50--Some of Rallys dogs ,actually have had duck feathers in their mouths. Last year was the first time in several years Rally and I didn't get out on a duck hunt. Not that we ever hit things right, but we usually went after all the trapping conventions were over. Tom

Nah,he is 27 and the last time I hunted with him was 14 years ago. He shot his first and only bird with me--a goose I called in.His dad took him a couple times after that, but neither one of them has hunted in 13 years. He has lived in Colorado for several years (for health reasons) and my guess is he is going just to be with his dad. Probably end up winging it,unless I can find a land owner there, before we go. Tom

Gary,I am the only long hair on this upcoming trip.MN. farmers never had a problem with my long hair---especially when I was doing away with their beaver problems. Tom

Don't let Snowy's response scare you away
I've coyote hunted the crap outtakes that area and find landowner very friendly.
But "rumor is", they hate Sconies because of fishing, both open water n ice.
You will find most folks in that region very friendly. Wish you well.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo
You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

LOL,nothing Snowy says would scare me away. I don't believe much of his anti MN. ramblings. I am looking forward to spending an enjoyable time, watching ducks and geese, decoys, and the wonderful waters of North Dakota. Next to trapping, the quest for waterfowl is next on my list of love to do things. Nothing better than feet in the waters and hopefully dry waders. Tom

LOL,I live 2 miles from Wisconsin--but I am from MN. Snowy --you are negative on anything MN,and always have been--so I pay no attention to anything you say.Because I feel you are full of--well you know the rest. Tom Too true Tom. In over 40 years of cold month control shooting in MT I have seen plenty of locals do some ridiculous things, generally younger guys. Guiding summer fisherman in remote Canada for the same length of time my three worst clients were 3 continually drunk ranchers from MT. So what. Doesn’t in any way jade me towards anyone. Everyone and Anyone is Someone in my eyes until they themselves show me otherwise. I hope you get into the birds and have a great trip. Osky
