last week i got bad sick , severe body aches and a high fever folowed by chills . My doctor said i was presumed covid positive and under self quarantine and recomended a test . I told her i had several tick bites . She prescribed doxycycline and drew blood for a tick panel test . I got the covid test and was negative my tick disease test havnt come back yet .

Thats how i wound up on Doxycycline , The last two mornings when i woke up there is not a pain in my body and my legs have energy . Ive been dealing with joint pain and leg fatigue for about 4 yeats . Has anybody had this happen or do you think the doxy is killing somthing that didnt show up on all the test weave done the last 4 years .

Seems like the meds have fixed something. Be sure to tell the doc thats been working on the problems, it may help them figure out what was wrong. The question is does the aches and pains return once you are off the meds?

Do a lot of research and get second, third and fourth opinions. I have been doctor free for about 61 of my 62 years. A couple of issues have cropped up in the past year, and I'm realizing how very little the medical industry actually knows about things, and how many different professional opinions there are.

If it happens that you picked up lymes disease or something like it from previous tick bites, the doxy MIGHT cure it(does not in most) but it will take several weeks at least. Be sure to tell your doc about the feeling bad for years and previous tick bites if you had them so she might keep you on doxy longer than a normal 7 or 10 day run.

In around 2012, I was having bad allergic reactions to feather dust and was put on doxycycline for an infected tooth abcess. My allergy stopped after a couple of days of doxycycline treatment.

Last year I was feeling bad and after having RMSF 5 years ago I asked my MD to test for Lymes when she was doing all my blood labs. When my results came back my RMSF titer was still over 370 but the Lymes was still negative. I was still prescribed Doxy for 10 days.

High sugar intake & processed foods can lead to systemic inflammation which will hinder your body from normal function and lead to aches and pains. The 'normal' diet of an average American is not fit for human consumption.

You more then likely already had lyme or a lyme related coinfection that you didn't even realize you had. Thats why your feeling better the bacteria goes into hiding. I had the same thing happen but I got tested for lyme and it was positive so I took the doxy for 30 days after about 4 days felt like a million bucks but after the 30 days I started going down hill but thats another story as I found out that my family and I have had toxic mold exposure from our house. Mold will mimic symptoms of lyme and almost look the same. I did lots of research on this. The doxy is the best choice for stopping lyme from developing but If you had it for a long time it may come back. If you have any questions or problems I will try and help as I have been through a lot on this. Adam
