yup bung tool .. think the bottom hook would open a grease barrel or can with folded tabs on lid , not sure what the notch did.

Wallfur has it.Rail fork for changing out bolted rail. We used them a lot on the section. Sperry car would come in spring and fall,x-ray the rails,mark the defective ones. Then the work train or boom truck would distribute good rail,then each section would follow the work train rolling out the defective rails and rolling in the good ones. Boom trucks too slow compared to section gang,but OK for spot changeout here and there on defective rail found in the track by the section crew between sperry checks.Section trucks have hydraulic tools now like bolters and spike pullers and hammers. Track speed was restricted with defective rail in the track so they all had to be changed out FAST.
