For you guys that run KB Stabilizers for beavers do you paint them, tie them off or what do you do so that they don’t go missing after the catch?

I paint them.
My conibears have cable for tying off. I route the cable through the stabilizer so I don’t lose it.
On occasion the stabilizer is my tie off at the end of the four or five foot cable.

I quick link my conibear chain to the stabilizer. I anchor my trap off through the spring eye

I dye mine in the same dye I use for footholds. I usually route the cable through them like Zuter but I occasionally forget which is why I keep a big magnet on a rope in the truck

I made up some short cables with small snap links on each end so I can clip them to the trap anchor cable. Works well for me.

Because of gravel and river rock substrates, I use KB stabilizers on almost every set because it is almost impossible to drive sticks into that substrate. I tie the stabilizers to one spring eye and leave it attached. A removeable cable extension tie off is used on the other spring eye.

I dip them with traps, just simply wire off to trap chain with 14 ga. Wire the kB in middle , so as wire not interfer with trap fire, I would attach to trap for sure. Always any kind a stand to connibear in water is wired off to trap chain for sure or may lose it

I use a piece of wire to attach it to the chain or spring, easy enough to bend so it stay out of the way.
