Hello Wolfdog,
You cannot over build a hog trap. For a corral trap, I have had success using 5' horse panels with the 4"X4" squares. The smaller square size helps keep piglets in. Support the headgate area as best you can as it has been my experience that is where the bigger hogs will test the trap the most. They will hit it and hit it until they find a weak spot. Making a round pen re-enforced with t-posts every 5 feet seems to work pretty good, but of course economics comes into play.
For boxtraps, I've seen many folks use angle iron for the frame and then mig weld the panels onto it from the inside for strength. Chancey

I have 5x8 1 inch square tubing frames with goat panel welded to them. 8ft gate on 2 inch square tubing frame.
If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

Seen guys use old hay rings for the frame. Make either a guillotine or rooter style door frame and weld panel onto the ring. They would anchor it with a couple of t posts. Airport that's a good looking setup.

Thanks guys. I'm needing to build some smaller traps that can be transported quickly and easily. Highly doubt any hogs are going to be over 80-100 lbs. Not to mention I got folks riding me about building them a nice hog trap. How much did your controller and camera cost you all together? Seen some hand made deals that where under $200 with the camera and controller not to mention the sim cards and plans

Those panels can be stacked up and hauled around wolf dog, have mine made 6-8 ft. long, no fence post driving with those, just slide a rod through them to connect together, can make the trap as big or small as you wish. Imagine his door on it with camera and all the jazz is around 4 grand!
Got doors made like that for 125 bucks, they work mainly off trip wire set up we use though but can be used on the fancy star trek trigger's with your phone as well.

You can get a camera for 100 bucks, you can build a cellular controlled device for $150 , maybe a little less
If it makes a track on this earth , I can catch it.

Wlfie, as another man who sees the value in next level hog trapping we have a couple big dogs here willing to help us up the learning curve. Between guys like Airport and Boy Named Sue, we can get pics and even specs if we talk nicely and as you know they as hard on hogs as an a slaughter house

That is a good one but it is a meat gitter only. I know you are far from a hater young Wolfdog but at some point you will declare all out pork Jihad and when you do you will probably have to forget square corners b/c you can catch enough hogs to tear down anything you built (and can still move) unless they cant find a corner.
Gathering meat is fine but anyone as Patriotic as you are will aspire Maas murder like the rest of us.
It looks to me like a lack of corners or the ability to see or anticipate snares are the only thing we have going for us. You can hear me now and believe me later but the longer you pursue this the more you will see what I mean.
