Those turkish guns are just going to get more expensive and desirable IMO. Well made quality firearms at a good price.

Yildiz, cz, and similar are fine guns for the money. And if they burn up or wear out, just buy another.

I bought a Stoeger Condor Supreme 20 gauge O/U for my daughter about ten years ago. For a budget O/U it's a pretty nice gun. I actually use it for grouse and woodcock more than my expensive O/U.

I think I paid around $350.00. I see where you can still get them from places like Cabela's for $399.00

Eh...wot?

Those Turkish O/U's should be about $100 less. If you catch things right you can get them for about $300-$350

Those old NEF and H and R break open single shots were sold new for 30 bucks in the early 70,s. Went up to 35 for awhile. Handi rifle was a little higher when they came out cause of barrel costs. Look at what those "cheap" guns bring now.

I had an old H&R 12 in the 80's....I must have sold it....browsing online I'm leaning towards CZ Redhead Premier for around $900, but I'll have to go back to the shop and see what they had...one of them felt really nice in my hands grin

Have a few of those H and R Toppers, had no idea they were priced so high. New England bought them out I thought, are they not making those anymore? As far as double barrels, i have a Bakail 12 gauge i paid 425 new for. Obviously the fit snd finish isnt that of a Red Label, but for a user gun its great. Im sure its on par with Stoegers and all the other Turkish guns.

I’d agree with that and wouldn’t be afraid of owning one. Anyone held the new Benelli O/U? Nice gun!! If corn would go back to $6 bucks I’d love to get one in 20ga.Lol

I bet you can kill just as many quail with it as you can the thousand dollar gun. The turkish guns I have seen were made to be used and not break. Just like the old topper or NEF guns. My first new gun purchase was a topper. On my birthday but not my eighteenth. Told the store clerk see today is my birthday. Clerk didnt do the math and sold it to me. I have fired probably 10, 000 rounds through that gun, it still works and I still have it. What more could you ask of a "cheap" gun?

My first gun was an H & R Topper Model 158. It was bought for me for my birthday when I turned twelve. I used it until I upgraded in my late teens. I got pretty good with it. I used to carry an extra shell in my left hand cradled under the forearm. Mine had an ejector and I could get a second shot off pretty darn quick.

I still have it, it's fifty years old this year.

To me there is more hype in shotgun brands than rifles. Especially when considering the trending waterfowl hunters. Benelli or beretta for everyone i know. If it wasnt at least 1300 bucks it cant kill ducks. Just ask them!

For duck hunters that hunt the entire 60 day season in all different environments then yeah, you want a quality shotgun that can take a beating and keep working. I’ve seen a “silver” SBEI that a guy has had for so long the bluing has been completely worn off. That gun has shot ducks from Argentina to Iceland. A $300 shotgun isn’t going to last.

As far as a nice inexpensive over/under then check out a Tristar. I have a 20ga that is a fun little gun for dove and a Woodie shoot.

CZ USA makes very good firearms. They make several over/ under plus side by sides. I love my 28 gauge Sharp tail side by side. Have recommended and sold their full line for the past 15 years.

I shot a friends Tri Star OU 20ga

I hit the clay I was shooting

action was tight

seemed like a decent enough gun I would think the question would be when you start needing springs and firing pins and such , are they available

the web site says customer service is in Kansas city MO

I use an ATI 28 gauge alot it's a great shooter. I think it's a cavalry model. It's made in Turkey also as most shotguns are. The Savage 555 comes out of the same factory. You asked about a 20 gauge, I found an ATI 20 gauge cavalry to match my 28 gauge at my local gun store. It has 26 inch choke tubed barrels and comes with 5 chokes, the tubes are beretta/benelli threaded. The thing I found amazing is it weighed 5.34 lbs. on the scale. That's about the same weight as my 28 gauge. They also had an ATI 12 gauge just under six lbs. It was as light as my Beretta 686 ultra-light. The listed price was right around 500. I think the 20 is coming home with me this week. I've had good success with the ATI products and carry the 28 more than my other shotguns. Good luck with your search.
