Hutchy watch that beam above the bed if you get into the making kids scenario......just saying from experience it can hurt.

Beautiful place, looks like you built to stay for awhile. Have another storage shed out back yet?

Ha ha. Used a ladder last night. Building a wood one in the shop in a half hr.

We are putting a pullout couch and coffee table under the bed. Cool place to watch movies and stuff, that's why the bed is high

Really great idea

Looks good Hutchy...

Boco I can agree on coming in to a warm fire. I haven’t gotten that one figured out for myself yet, maybe some sort of auto loader for my wood stove.

I had two girls with me last night. One, my wife slept in bed with me and the other whined all night because she couldn't get up on the bed, then puked up some kibble mixed with tree bark on the floor at 2am.

Your scenario sounds pretty good actually

I got ya.

Probably looks like it's above the bed, but it is in line with the side of the bed.

Have some 12v warm white LED strips coming for on top of the beams. The light on the ceiling should have a nice effect

People would elevate their beds on stacks of milk crates and have desks underneath. Made a ton more room in a small space. Worked good for people in University. They brought their stuff in with the crates, then used em for the bed

Years ago I did that exact thing in our tiny apartment. How high is your ceiling and how high is your platform?

Walls are eight feet. Not sure how high the peak is, put the roof is a 5/12 pitch.

Bottom of bed frame is about 5' -4"

I designed it so you can operate the window from below, as well as above while in bed

I can't wait. Hope they are nothing like I was.

When I was about seven I overheard my dad talking about getting his truck painted.

Next thing, there I was trying to be helpful spray painting his 88 GMC Jimmy.

I was right. He was surprised!
