What type of meat grinder do you use to grind up glands, meat with fur, small bones, fish with scales, etc.? Thanks

I’ve got an old hand grinder and a food processor that I bought secondhand. Works pretty good for what I do.

I used to use a hand grinder and some small food processors. They worked Ok.I was grinding up some rattlesnakes with the hand grinder and the largest of those just wouldn't go.That spine was just too much.I immediately ordered a 1HP electic grinder and it is amazing. It is a little much for some budgets, even mine but it was time.It grinds up anything in it's path.I use the smaller 1 and 3 cup choppers to do glands because I rarely have huge quantities of any glands.

The big grinder will reduce a snake into a fine, sticky paste in minutes-no arm strain. It will reduce bone in, muskrat pieces, including skulls, into a fine paste, very quickly.I leave all the bones in.Of course we all have to go by our own budgets but I have no regrets getting the 1HP grinder.Regardless, it is all fun stuff.

Thanks for the responses. Taxi it sounds like you have some fine equipment. I will keep my eyes open on the used market.

I just burned up two second hand store blenders yesterday grinding beaver oil sacks. I think it's time to buy a electric meat grinder.
I'm also in the dog house because of the dogs rolling in the sac oil left on the ground. I'm not sure how to totally eliminate that problem.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I bought everything at a farm store including the motor. Lumber was a piece of scrap from building some steps. belt tensioner was made from garage door parts

for small stuff I use a cheap walmart food processer

What size motor are you using Danny? I have almost identical set up as you. I have half horse power motor on mine off a old air compressor. Think may have about $80 total in mine and been using it for 12-13 years.

Have two 1 hp from cabelas and work them hard. Need to keep the blades and plates sharp and spare bushings for the auger on hand. I have other Toledo grinders that are work horses.

I keep them in these days. I had gotten some misinformation on them early on.

I use cableas grinder's for bait meat and glands.
Torerxe grinder's are good also, it's our wild game grinder.
Grinds 80-100 lbs. Trim and beef fat mix times 2 every year.
Plus 10- 20 lbs. Of sausage / have gone to chopped and formed jerky from our antelope also.

Let me sugar coat this
