Could we get a picture of the problem shells(s) next to ones that were not a problem? With out it everyone is just taking a shot in the dark as to what is going on.

I've had similar results. I've chalked it up to being cold when hunting. Perhaps thicker gun oil and cold metal. Not sure exactly but 2 out of 8 light strikes where at turkey and deer. I've shot many thousands of practice rounds and maybe only 50 rounds at turkey and deer.

If you really feel the need to lube the firing pin, I never ever do, use powdered graphite or molybdenum disulfide powder. Never any oil.

It's not for lube. I hunt in the rain a lot. I try to wipe all the oil off but you can't really get it all. If I don't put some kind of oil on them they rust.

I was more worried about the offset firing pin, I have never seen that before. Talked to CVA and they said nothing wrong but they would wend me a new spring if i wanted. Must have been a bad primer. I dont think its a weak spring, Seems like the dent in the primer is deep. And wouldnt wear out a spring in 3 boxes of shells? Maybe I just got a little excited about it not firing, Im going on an elk hunt the 17th.

A lot of guns hit off-center a little.

Be real careful when handling primers and seating depth. Also make sure you don't bump the shoulder back too far.
