unfortunately campus and the city are so intertwined almost impossible to tell where one stops and the other begins , and with all the off campus housing 3/4 of the students live off campus in apartments and such.

they go to jobs off campus , take the busses to campus and party off campus

if only we could toss up a few thousand yards of chain link and put a couple guards at the and be done.

it turns into putting a dorm into quarantine other than laundry and bathrooms students are confined to their rooms

The latest from the CDC is that the probability of death for those under 80 is less than 0.5%. The sooner this runs it's course through the general population the better.

Do you inhale your food thru your nose or eyes?

Makes no sense.

School openings, colleges opening, relaxing business restrictions, and Labor Day gatherings are what I think is causing the current outbreaks. I went out today to several businesses. I and everyone else had masks on but I am getting more careless about distancing and hand washing. Supermarket lines are a problem in some stores more than others. I need to avoid ALDI. Too crowded.

Heard today that in a 12 month period we have about 700,000 coronary related deaths. Not much the average person can do to instantly lower that figure. Same for cancer. I am a two time survivor (colon and kidney). If I keep my distance and my head straight about health and safety, I can lower my changc of getting the virus. That's my game plan. Stick to my game plan.

I don't believe the daily Iowa news reports. Average of 19 deaths a day usally, an upper 600 to upper 900 cases a day, I don't believe it, every day, alot unknown of covid. Not know anyone got it, I wear mask in stores or bigger town close anywhere u got to, I wear a lil at 1 job until not hardly none there. I couldn't stand wear in factory. I have had sinus problems for years with upper airways ittated or post nasal. Drip an went docter June. Not reslly sick but notice when breathe for months at nite or day a wheezing noises that had check docter. Go give 2 more weeks as was cold wet lately. An could be lil cold. What is good for sinuses. Or post nasal drip other Zyrtec. ? I heard some over counter stuff, cant think is. U breathe, Nestle something but this docter stuff get be expensive e quick if specialist involved.

Wonder where Walleyed is at with his New York death watch. How did it go from filling refer trucks with dead bodies to like zero deaths?

There are parents that send knowingly positive kids to school here in WI. Many don't trust the government, but we can't even trust our neighbors, that is not a good way to have to live until this passes over.
With 9% of the US estimated to have had Covid that is roughly 25 million, we only have 150 million to go to get to the percentage either vaccinated or recovered or dead from the disease. With mask requirements not getting much compliance I wish the CDC would announce their best strategy for herd immunity because that is where we are rapidly heading. I am sitting on most of my loan I got. Was planning to buy several items. Holding off as many are in short supply but with no 2nd or 3rd relief plan and many wanting to spend money for Christmas, early next year looks like a good time to find some of the items I want to get.

Actually there are things you can do to lower your risk of heart disease and diabetes. The problem is they require more effort and commitment. Not as easy as that good feeling you get by putting on a mask.

Maybe someone can clear my mind on this. Who is getting tested? Not sure how you guys feel, but unless I was pretty sick I would never even be near a health clinic. Are people constantly just rolling in and testing themselves? Healthy people?

I had to put one on for about 10 seconds to get into a ballgame during this whole ordeal. I’m glad I live where I do. Everyone has an opinion on them and around here they aren’t popular. I’ll leave it at that

people who want to go back to work.

have contact with a covid + person , you get a 14 day time out while they only get 10 days for being positive.

if you have contact on a the 1st the day they feel ill and go home from work and get tested they can return to work on the 11th and you can not return till the 15th

unless you wait 5 days and get a test , then you could be negative and back to work on the 8th a week sooner than

some of the reasons for keeping half your labor separate in separate teams that way you are not down everyone at once.

my wife , son and daughter have all had positive co-workers or co-workers who were exposed to a positive family member or another positive employee. luckily they were not working with any of them at the time , they were on different shifts.

my daughter has been picking up shifts for the girl who works the opposite weekend because first she was exposed at school and then her uncle who she lives with got it. she will be gone for a month by the time she can return.

No one I know personally has been tested, or any of my customers have said about being tested.

I guess just sick people around here get tested??

We had a good bit here in East Tenn lately, my uncle73) my 2nd cousin(72) and great aunt(94) all had it. My uncle is a smoker of 45 year and had lung collapsed twice and he was in bed for a few days and smothered bad for two days but did just fine , said it was no worse on him than the flu. Surprisingly my great aunt is doing good now but her being 94 and not very good health I thought it'd be a death sentence for her. Nobody where's a mask in my small town but we've been fortunate not to have many cases. What I don't understand is my uncle slept in the same bed with his wife and she never got it

ICU units were all the rage for a while, that's all they talked about. They never told us how many ICU units there are in the country. There's approximately 100,000 ICU beds in the US. Toss some people in there recovering from a triple bypass, motorcycle, chainsaw or car accident and it wouldn't take much to overwhelm the system and make it sound really, really bad.

People aren't dropping like flies and most people around here are weary of hearing of it. I think it's been completely overblown.

Heck a teacher or coach (can't remember) tested positive and still went to school.

I see this more than anything. Weird. Anyother flu seems to go through a whole household eventually. Most of the people I know that have gotten it no one else in the family got except for 1. In that case his 8 year old son had it, he then got it but his 4 other kids and wife never got it.

Seems there are variables that make a difference such as blood type and maybe how your body processes vit D and minerals such as zinc. Even some meds you may be taking such as Famotidine for acid was talked about earlier making recovery quicker. The way the covid replicates in some people just seems to be different, possibly just some subtle difference in ones habits or body makeup. And of course pre existing conditions. All just a guess.
My best friend that died had type A blood.

I haven't had the virus yet. I wear a mask. Can't hurt. Why not. I'm listening. Freedom to not wear a mask offers zero protection to our health. Surely the mask offers some help.
