waggler trapper W Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 9,221 Alaska and Washington State	I don't know if they make hip boots, but there is a Finish company named "Nokian" that makes all sort of boots that work extremely well for outdoorsmen. I have a pair of their nearly knee high insulated boots that have a lip on the heel, and a slightly extended sole at the toe for Scandinavian (Sami) cross country skis. I used them for snowshoes, the bindings hold really well on the heel. Very good quality, if they made a hip boot I'd try them. there is a place in Canada that sells them. New hipboots arrived today made in russia. Nordic brand and they are in no way comparable to my old lacrosse boots bought in 87.
