ALL of OUR presses have tethers that you hook up to your wrists. So when the machine Is operating It pulls your hands away from the press. all ours have "pullbacks" PLUS, all our operators have a measurement or 2 they take, OR, a sample pc to hold up to compare during production to make sure they make good parts. YOU could ask for a good part, to use to compare against what you make.

I built stamping dies before I started building injection molds. When I finished one I had to setup the press and sample the die. In my opinion you will wreck stuff putting parts in wrong, or need a toolmaker to help get stuck parts out of die. Good luck to you Dave, a good steady factory job may help you get thru the low fur price years. When I started as a toolmaker the word was computers and CNC machines would make life easier for the people in the trade, all it did was shorten lead times, don't miss the trade at all after 3 years retired.

Wish you'd worry about your spelling/ sentence structure as much as you do other things Coonman. Making a living is more important than spelling. Smoke another hippie

I have a 1 ton punch press use it for making 3/16" bear snares.
Then a 5 Ton punch press to make 1/4" and 5/16" bear snares. they both will take your finger off.
Dont want to do that again. Lost 1 finger in 1970 to a table saw while in teck school.

Guess you'll find out tomorrow. I ran a press for a few years long ago. They had safety light curtains and wouldn't cycle unless everyone on the press pressed all the buttons connected to it at the same time. I remember when I was kid, putting the parts in wrong and double stacking them just to see what they'd look like. No one told me it could hurt the dies. lol Guess it never did since I never heard about it. Ya they have saftey lite curtains. Killer machine without one.not long time but work with ppl while in press hands an there look around up in air , tromp down on only set palm buttons in press. 2 operaters with only palm buttons for 1 operater, dbl stack parts accidentally, or screwups csn destroy die or break it, get u sent home for day, or fire, leave piece of trim in press, forget it or dbl stack part an stuck die , superviser investigate what happen an why, not fun, I seen temp with pony tail down waist dbl stack big commercial Lennox air cond basez, did once, got part out, he did it again, an a third time. Superviser not happy, I don't know what happen but not see nomore

35 yrs in a big stamping facility. Handstands with light curtains Or handstands with a Brake monitor and pinch point calculations for handstands. Coil fed presses and Robotics lines were gate curtain / light curtain / and or pressure pads. I've tested and signed Ok for production releases on literally thousands of set-ups in my career. Misgauged parts always end with die damage of some type. Broken punches and buttons , chipped cutters, cracked die sections. My biggest fear everyday when putting people to work was amputation or worse. So thankful it never happened . Be safe and keep your eyes open.
