A while back some folks were talking about Muck boots and the other brand that is similar. I can't remember what the name was. Have any of you folks bought them? We're they any good? Cost? Where did you get them?

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I’ve had both, muck and dryshod. In my open they don’t hold up long. The neoprene top is easily punctured and also staffs to leak where it meets the rubber bottom. Same thing happens to my hunting pair and my daily winter chore boots. Love that they are light and warm, wish they made the whole boot out of the rubber bottom portion and not the neoprene. That bottom part is tough as nails, never had a problem with it, just the neoprene. Trying tidewe bext

Lacrosse Alpha Burly, wore them for years in feedlots and everything less hard on a pair of rubber boots you could, very tough and warm.

Kamik might be the brand you are thinking of.

Did not see anything about having to be made in the states.

Kamik, Honeywell, or Dunlops then all made here but Ive only wore honeywells but they did not last very long.

I have the xtratuf boots, used on AK fishing boats, they outlast all the other brands. Mucks, bogs, lacrosse...not even close.

For wet spring weather, warmer stuff, i have a pair of Goodrich brown rubber boots. About every Alaskan pic I've seen someone is sporting a pair of them they must issue them at birth or something, so I bought a pair. They are not lined but great for mud and rainy soggy ground, warmer weather only though.
I bought a pair of neoprene boots one year that were like mucks ("muckalikes" I called them to my friends that had real mucks) but not nearly as pricy, got them from Walmart and they were OK for colder weather but not best to walk any good distances in over corn or bean fields. I think they were walmarts house brand like Ozarks or something like that. Some of my set locations are a good 1/2 mile jaunt in from the road where i park to spots way back in sections where the pickup coyote army can't get to. I need something I can cross small streams with, or ditches with water, soft mud, snow, wet grass, or hard frozen soil too. The muckalikes did tear up pretty good on top section after a season or two of coyote trapping, and were not comfy. Now I just use my 400 gram danners with a lot of mink oil and waterproofing spray. Those broke in and a good pair of wool socks and I'm dry and comfy walking my line all winter. Havent gone back to mucks or muck-likes since.
Still have my goodrich brown rubber boots though for warmer weather.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Thank you all for the tips. My Muck boots have given up and I didn't want to buy another Muck brand but wanted something that was comparable. And yes, I had a pair of those "warm" weather alaskan boots. They are great for early season and the rubber never cracked where you bend your foot near the toes..

Tidewe's are basically Muck copies but considerably cheaper. They're made very well.

That would be impressive for me. My last mucks made about four months. And they were not the ones with neaprene, they were the expensive artic ones.
