.243 is a flat shooter.Started both my boys out with an old Ruger 77 .243.

Yessir upstate... 243 is a good starter for the kids... my oldest boy is 3 for 4 with it in 2 seasons...the miss was a tough shot on a buck facing him getting our wind on a logging road at about 150 ... told him to shoot the white patch before he heads back into the thicket... that deer headed back in the thicket with a quickness after that little bullet shaved him lol

they are making them in 44mag , 30-30, 308 , 243 that I have seen

they were 365.00 and I was looking at getting a 308 because I have lots of 308 brass and I keep plenty of ammo loaded for 308, it is my go to round for most things now.

last I looked if you can find one they are well over 400

a bit much for a knock about gun for me

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Alls I want is a stainless over synthetic Model 60 with a spring block that is 50% tougher and will stand a few hyper velocity rounds like a CCI mini-mag
