I will add another one to my collection in due time, then maybe upgrade to some fancy wood. Sarge Getting old is a fatal mistake Always looking for reloading componets I know a beaver or two, because I've seen a beaver or two

From my reading, it could be an original stock that was refinished, as the original finish was pretty dark and obscured the grain. According to web forums it's popular nowadays to refinish them for a nicer look like yours. There's some info here.
