I think that dali lama excuse thing is on a par with the chinese not being able to dress beaver.

Don't think so Boco. All those otter pelts didn't go to the fur trade they were being used In religious ceremonies. And he put the kabash on their use.
Any way that's how Mike Roe heard It.

I am certainly not knowledgeable about southern fur but I can't imagine anything having much value at this early date. Maybe if you are making floor mats.......
We won't even have an opening for another month He's almost certainly buying fur caught last season. Doubt anyone is trapping much now besides nuisance animals.

Swamp Wolf- Did you store your dried and stretched last season fur in the freezer? I don't have room in my freezer for such stuff, anything in there would be rolled up green skins, but I did have some later season coon skins that someone gave me that have been hanging in my basement utility room that has a dehumidifier. They look better there they would have outside in the heat and uncontrolled humidity of my garage. Then again, we didn't very many humid days this summer because they had no moisture in the air for most of it...

Any way that's how Mike Roe heard It. Yep, I remember pictures of Tibetans throwing their fur prayer robes on bonfires after the Dalai lama said he was embarrassed to see endangered species being killed for the vanity of his people. Of course he was referring to the trade on asian claw otters.... but the damage was done.

All the Northern prime fur must be all bought up if the Rat wagon has to go to Georgia this early in the season to find numbers to buy. Got to get a jump on that competition. I believe GFWC made the southern run because the annual southern route planned in March 2020 was cancelled due to the virus. Thank goodness he remembered us.
