Our season allows us to fish til Mid October now. One guy told me October is a good time to catch trout. I haven't tried it more than once in October, I guess it's hard to find the time.

Aren't the brown trout and brookies spawning this time of year?

To answer your question AJE yes otters are very tough on trout of all sizes . I've had some great days trout fishing when I lived close to the Bighorn river I fished every month of the year and otters caused trouble for many a trout and in some cases trout fishers ha ha

Well done rvsask. Where I originate from deep fishing lakers is practically a religion. Nice to hear of great catches of a majestic fish species.

Crit-r,
I won’t pretend I’m great at fishing them deep but when they come up in the fall, look out. 165 lakers landed averaging about 6 pounds over the past two trips.

Nov. is a better month, the Seeforellen spawn later than the typical German Browns do. And they are much bigger. My biggest is 36" so far.

We can't inland trout fish later than 10/15 in my area though, except maybe on 1 lake.
