Not sure now but they use to pay an extra dollar if you put the beaver up, lol. Not worth it at that rate.
Glad you guy's have SOMEWHERE to move all that stuff, no clue what he's doing with the otter, felt market keeps the beaver moving.

I guess it is good to see some fur moving, but as long as there is a steady supply of cheap product just below auction prices why would there be any incentive to bid competatively at an auction house? Not sure there is gonna be a steady supply of southern product. This entire purchase in Ga was last season's "what the heck am I gonna do with this" catch. Folks down here might be reluctant to run at it as hard...

I get it, I've got a couple freezers full of green beaver myself that it wouldn't take much to part with. My point is as long as there is product available and sellers willing to take whatever they can get there is not much hope for market improvement. I wonder how long the last remaining auction house can hang on, and not looking forward to the day there is only one option left for moving fur. They do the same thing with PT sales. Calling them an auction house is a bit of a stretch in today's market.

I think a sign of a bad market is when the freezer is worth more than the fur in it. Hopefully the fur brings more than the electricity cost.

Southern beaver are not going to affect valuation's, etc. of northern beaver. IF you get a market for beaver or anything else for that matter it shouldn't matter what's on the market as there won't be enough to meet the demand. Just isn't any demand right now, fix that and fur will fly out of the pipe line. All these southern beaver are not being made into hats and jackets, they're shaving the hair off them for the felt market and tossing the hide in the trash bin!
At some point it's not going to be worth dragging the beaver back after you done been paid to trap them to begin with, coyotes will feed well if nothing else.
