Get up between 4 and 5, and go to bed after the 10pm news.

The value of retirement is now that I can grab a quick nap during the heat of the day.

That is true on the nap. It doesn't happen often but it does once in a while. Lol If I sit idle for to long it just happens, wanting it too or not.

I rarely get 5 hours sleep each night. Most nights it is 3-4 hours. Up at 3:30 -4:30 most every day. Wish I could sleep longer I am sure I would feel better and have more energy.

Trapping long days with short nights got to be a hard habit to break.

I have no routine and often sleep 4 hrs. 6 hrs is a rare event.

I work 12 hr shifts on a rotating schedule. I work more 16 hr shifts than 12s with the one week of days the next night my body is in constant turmoil. The trade off is I have 32 hrs a month in overtime pay before working additional ot and I only have to work 14 out of 28 days. I get two 3 day off one one 7 day off stretch a month. So even thow I average between 50 and 60 hrs a week I have 6 months off a year and that's before subtracting 3 weeks for vacation time. I can also work all the ot I want up to 72hrs.

I will probably die sooner but i have yet to find anything half as comparable on year end pay and benefits.

When I was on 2nd shift I was asleep by 0230-0300 and had to sleep until at least 0930 or I was miserable trying to wake up. Since being on 3rd shift I sleep 1230-2030 workdays but on days off I can't sleep past 0700 no matter what. Waking up early is much easier though

Working in the oil field ruined my sleep habits. Sometimes you would be up 36-40 hours finishing a job and then be too over tired to sleep. If I get 4/5 hours a night now I am lucky.

I have had a sleep apnea machine for 7 years now and I get 6.45 to 7 hours per night unless I set alarms, but yes that has changed for me I used to go to bed earlier and get up earlier. I have been retired from my 2nd job now a bit of 7 years and I go to bed later and get up later.

Snowy, besides Saturday I can't remember the last time I slept 8hrs. I slept until 0700 and thought the day was gone lol.

Most days asleep by 0200 up by 0630. If my pain is bad I'm looking at 3 hours total sleep if I'm lucky

I am usually up for 18-20 hours and then sleep 7-8 hours. My biological clock is not on a 24 hr schedule.Only difference from when I was younger is I sleep about 3 hrs longer now.Always stayed up 18-20 hrs. That is when I get tired and go to sleep.
I make a re-set every so often and stay up for 24 hours.

I think a lot of people who have problems sleeping is because they go to bed when they are not tired.

I did some commercial crabbing in my early 60’s. Early hours to beat the heat. Retired and adjusted in no time. Had a blue heeler who went on the boat with me each day. Took her about four years to adjust. She always knew when nap time ways and would jump up on my bed a nap without me.

Same here been that way since was a kid. Wouldn't go to sleep until around 5 AM then have to get up by 6 to catch the bus to school. When was a drinker and had enough beer would sleep like a baby. Have read tinnitus can be an aggravation to it and has also been tied to sleep apnea.

I get up a little after 4 each morning, every day, and after coffee and piece of toast with PB i either take the dog for a 3-4 mile run during week, or on off days get in some weights and situps. Go to work all day, have things to do in evenings, and am in bed and asleep just after the 10 o'clock news.
On weekends I get one long run in, after sunup, anywhere from 6 to 10 miles. Other weekend day I dont run take a break to heal up.
During trapping season I dont run just walk and haul stuff a lot, easy switch from running and sleep pattern already in place.
Ive ran 24 marathons in last 8 years, 25th will be first weekend in November in lincoln.
Always been a morning person and whether its trapping or running i try to do both before or after work and usually after hours so I don't cut into time with family. They boys go when they are able with their schedules. Weekends are a treat to check traps or run without headlights. grin love weekends!

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Hit the hay between 10:30-12 up 4:30-6. I love the mornings. Almost always in a great mood and can be out of the bed, dressed and headed to work in a few minutes. If I need to be up before 3:30 or so I have to set a alarm anytime after that I just tell myself when to wake up. My father is the same way.

Now my wife on the other hand..... When “The Princesses” wakes up. You are wise not to talk, make direct eye contact, or think loudly for a hour or so. Breaking these rules can and will end badly! I honestly have never seen anything like it.
