Built several for fellow competitors too.

A very efficient and mild recoiling cartridge good for anything in the lower 48 !

I just ordered the boy a savage apex hunter for his birthday. He should like it. He goes out to western Ne. for mulies and whitetail. And hopefully next year an antelope hunt in WY or CO.

Just got rid of a .260.

Great caliber, and my rifle was a heck of a shooter.

Just couldn’t find a high BC 6.5mm bullet that would do what I want it to terminally.

I’m into hot rodded 6s now.

I’ll agree with the statement in the 25-06. It was my favorite deer cartridge as well. Having used it and the Bob, I felt the 25-06 was a more efficient killer but that’s likely due to the additional hydrostatic shock. While the Bob killed deer, most still managed to run. Not far but they did in fact run. I was using 100 grain pills in both cartridges at the time. Having said that, and please understand I mean zero disrespect, I don’t feel they belong in the same class at all. The .264 bullets have much better BC’s comparatively speaking. The .257’s are ballistic turds when compared side-by-side. But, ballistics aside, and I’ve caught a ton of grief for saying this (even on this site) in the past, I still feel that the 25’s are by far the best caliber for deer and black bears. Wouldn’t feel under gunned on elk either. For whatever reason, it seems those bullets defy logic and expand much more rapidly than their brethren brothers. They just flat kill. It’s almost as if they expand quicker than bullets of similar weight in other calibers.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."
