Do something stupid?
Like asking a bunch of trappers and gun nuts if you should buy another gun??
If you ever find yourself in this predicament again, do what I did. I got a gun rock.
Here is how it works:
If you ever feel the urge to buy another gun, go and immediately grab your gun rock. You then walk outside with it and find a nice flat area. Preferably grassy. You then throw the rock straight up in the air. Get some good height.
If it lands on the ground, that means you should buy another gun. that right there is good advice !!

Horn I don't think one can have too many guns. Besides that don't think be any danger of him not liking it.

I wouldn't worry about a ton of magnification 40-45gr pills from a hornet are really not way out there medicine they start loosing steam quick past 200
generally 22 hornet is a inside 200 yard don't tear up fur round
really like a hot 22mag but in a center fire

Wolfdog,
With a light compact fast handling rifle like you got I would keep the scope light to complement the rifle. I have used a 2.5X8 and have never needed anything bigger as a matter of fact 99% of what I shoot is done on 2.5 power. Just what has worked for me may be different for other folks.

You may need to get extension rings to allow the scope to come back farther for you.
I have nothing clever to put here.

You mentioned getting a crimp die-crimping won't be needed for a single shot. Just expand the neck enough to start the bullet.

One thing to watch out for with Hornet brass is that it is thin. After a couple reloads check the thickness of the metal close to the base. I have had a couple separate from the head when I tried to eject them. I tried some hotter loads and the brass could not handle many reloads of that. When you trim them if you are trimming a lot off the end I would not reload that brass. You won't need a crimp die. You'll only need to neck size if you just have the one gun. I like 9 grains of 4227 behind the Sierra 1012 45 grain hornet bullet. I tried 35 grain ballistic tips, 33 grain bullets, 40 grain bullets, ect. but they were not as accurate for me as the Sierra old hornet bullet. I kept going back to it and now just load that. All of them make a hole through a coyote about the size of a half dollar. The light ones never did expand enough for me like they do if they go faster to perform the way they were meant. You'll have a lot of fun with it. Cheap shootin Mine has a Weaver K6 on it
