Snowy I've the same sleep routine here as well. Waking up before daylight see's cooler temps. Here in the desert with daytime temps around 110° I drink a gallon of water and more during the day. That volume translates to a few overnight trips to the john. The older I become and from the stories I've heard I'd much rather wake up to relieve the bladder a few times a night than the alternative. The value of retirement is now that I can grab a quick nap during the heat of the day. That is true on the nap. It doesn't happen often but it does once in a while. Lol If I sit idle for to long it just happens, wanting it too or not.
Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

I have been retired for 22 years. I go to bed around 12 Pm and toss and turn all night. I get very little sleep. Nothing seems to help. Same here, except I have only been retired 18 years.

I am usually up for 18-20 hours and then sleep 7-8 hours. My biological clock is not on a 24 hr schedule.Only difference from when I was younger is I sleep about 3 hrs longer now.Always stayed up 18-20 hrs. That is when I get tired and go to sleep. I make a re-set every so often and stay up for 24 hours.
I think a lot of people who have problems sleeping is because they go to bed when they are not tired.

Same here been that way since was a kid. Wouldn't go to sleep until around 5 AM then have to get up by 6 to catch the bus to school. When was a drinker and had enough beer would sleep like a baby. Have read tinnitus can be an aggravation to it and has also been tied to sleep apnea.
Some individuals use statistics as a drunk man uses lamp-posts — for support rather than for illumination.

I get up a little after 4 each morning, every day, and after coffee and piece of toast with PB i either take the dog for a 3-4 mile run during week, or on off days get in some weights and situps. Go to work all day, have things to do in evenings, and am in bed and asleep just after the 10 o'clock news. On weekends I get one long run in, after sunup, anywhere from 6 to 10 miles. Other weekend day I dont run take a break to heal up. During trapping season I dont run just walk and haul stuff a lot, easy switch from running and sleep pattern already in place. Ive ran 24 marathons in last 8 years, 25th will be first weekend in November in lincoln. Always been a morning person and whether its trapping or running i try to do both before or after work and usually after hours so I don't cut into time with family. They boys go when they are able with their schedules. Weekends are a treat to check traps or run without headlights. love weekends!

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Hit the hay between 10:30-12 up 4:30-6. I love the mornings. Almost always in a great mood and can be out of the bed, dressed and headed to work in a few minutes. If I need to be up before 3:30 or so I have to set a alarm anytime after that I just tell myself when to wake up. My father is the same way.
Now my wife on the other hand..... When “The Princesses” wakes up. You are wise not to talk, make direct eye contact, or think loudly for a hour or so. Breaking these rules can and will end badly! I honestly have never seen anything like it.
