Tribute paid in the jump around at Wisconsin's Camp Randall at the end of every third quarter.

The old joke was that Eddie made a deal with the devil. We don't know what Eddie got but the devil got some guitar lessons.

Van Halens first album was the third 8 track tape I ever bought. I think I wore out three 8 track tapes of their first album before cassettes came out. I think their first album is my all time favorite album. They were still pretty good with Hagar, but not the same as they were with Roth singing in my opinion.

The devil picked up guitar after he lost his fiddle laugh

Never liked that kind of music, but heard he was one of the best when it came to guitars.

EVH once acknowledged that Chet Atkins was the best all time guitar player, and Eddie looked up to him....I agree that VH's first album was their best.

"Running with the Devil"...Their best song, IMO.

I got to see them the summer that I graduated from high school in 1981. All I can say is it was a great concert and I think this was VH at their best.
Check out the ticket price .
RIP Eddie

I agree on your time frame Bigbuck...VH was in top form from '78 when I saw their debut tour, until '84 or so....Killer Band during the David Lee Roth years that left an indelible mark!

An absolute legend and I am truly saddened that he is gone. I am so glad I got to see Van Halen in concert, and I remember sitting there in awe watching Eddie play the guitar that night. For those that never saw them live, all I can say is you missed out. RIP Eddie and thank you for the music and the memories!
