At sun down i said the the better half " its such a nice clear evening, lets light a fire in the yard and watch the ISS come by and have a quiet evening at the fire . So far so good. I lit the fire just before sunset so it would be smoke less by the time we had dinner and got out there. All going to plan so far. poorer myself a nice whiskey on a lump of ice and we sat down, dog at my side. 5 minutes later the squirrel dog from the neighbor turned up and wanted to play. My whiskey that I had next to my chair on the ground was the first casualty of the evening. Then the tea from the missus joined it fate. Went in poured myself another and we settled the dogs down and resumed out talk. Next thing I hear is my ginger tom meowing some place behind us in the dark. So missus grabs a flashlight and starts looking while I keep the dogs quiet. She spotted him 20 feet up a pine tree. Calls me over so I have a look and went to grab a ladder and some long pants and shirt. At this point I thought before the ice melts I'll have a swig of my drink, only to find some dirt and dog slobber in the glass. Yup Fin drank it. The ladder was to short so I had to climb some of the way up. That was the easy part climbing back down with a discontent 22 pound cat in one arm was not as easy. By the time I was done, the fire had burnt down Fin is sleeping off his triple Cut Sark. And I am about ready for a drink and some band aids.

PS. I know .... Y'all never seen cat bone in a tree yet. But the missus would have made be patrol around that tree all night

By the time I had dragged that ladder through the privet in the dark, The few scratches I got from the cat were just the icing on the cake.

Your lucky!You got a dog that will drink with ya.Closest I got to that is one of my WIFES cats,, claw hooked an olive out of my Martini once.Came up from putting wood in the furnace,,and saw an olive laying next to my Martini glass,,and the %^&^#$$% cat right there licking good Martini off his filthy paw !!!!!
