Lost a battle with a barbed wire fence while fishing the other day. These are lightweight Filson waders... nylon on the outside, polyester on the inside. Anyone out there know the best way to fix? [Linked Image]

That's a nasty gash..but I'm a fan of high temp red silicone gasket sealer. There's some other products that work but that may be simply irre-fixable.

Thanks for the tips. I truly appreciate the input. I'll try NP1 or Marine goop. I usually just buy cheap waders and throw them when they're wrecked, but these are too good to not try and save.

Think I'd try to stitch it up first and then Aquaseal with a patch on both sides.

On a repair that size take some EPDM flashing tape and cover the area. Then warm it up with a blow dryer and once it is warm and pliable role it or somehow press it onto the boot to make sure the seal is secure.

I always sew up the tear with fishing line [ mono] then use a rubber type goop over that.

Baseball stitch it with dental floss, and apply Aquaseal, or 3M 5200 fast cure over the stitches & tear, and run the glue out past the outside of the stitching, at least 1/4". This will make it good as new. I've patched dozens of sets of waders and raingear this way, over the years, they have all held up well. If you have a smooth surface, like raingear, you need to rough up the area around the tear, with sandpaper, or something abrasive, BEFORE you sew it. The roughed up area will give the glue a good mechanical bond.
