What are your favorite knives for processing deer. I want to invest in some good knifes.

I use the Victorinox with a 6" semi-stiff blade. They are available with different handles, I get them with the white Fibrox handles. I have three of them. They are all I use through the entire process, skinning to boning. A buddy processes deer and bear professionally and uses the same knives.

They are excellent knives for a reasonable price.

Victorinox

Eh...wot?

Lugnut gave you the only advice you need, there is a reason 99 percent of meat cutters use that same knife!

I use a Rapala filet knife. The flexible blade makes all the difference and it holds an edge. I debone all my deer when I skin them.

I prefer a 5" but it is basically the shorter version of the knife others are recommending

MUNDIAL 5" CURVED NARROW SEMI-FLEX BONING KNIFE I found them on sale for 9.99 at Farm and FLeet and fleet farm LEM sells them and they are in LEM packaging at both stores.

they are what I found cheap and available locally

I started with a 5 inch stiff strait that I found at a church rummage sale for a quarter I used it for a bunch of years. I still have that knife and still use it some that may be why I prefer 5 inch

Victronox makes a 5" as well

a number of knives have worked for me , what ever you find comfortable

what I think makes the least fatiguing is a Meat hook , deer aren't that big so I like the 4 inch https://www.amazon.com/Dexter-Russell-Sani-Safe-Orange-Handle/dp/B001505OU0

I can't really say I have tried a 5 or 6 inch , the 4 inch works well for me and makes breaking down multiple deer so much easier on the hands

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I have one too and it was my go to for many years. The blade does everything and the handle keeps me from cramping up.

Now that Horn has me hooked up with a good selection I can stow ol green handle in the glove box for emergencies only. She has earned her keep I say.

I use a cheap, but good, Morakniv when boning out in the field, a meat hook makes hanging onto chunks of meat from falling out of arthritic hands into the leaves very handy..At home any 6" semi stiff boner is about all you need, any brand as long as it's sharp, I prefer a carbon steel knife, and get a steel.
Re ground knives are good and a bargain, when they get ground too close to the spine though they're harder to keep sharp...
