I dyed and waxed my coyote traps two years ago after season and stored them in sealed totes. I didn't get to trap last year due to changing jobs. My question is I opened up the totes and there wasn't any smells that I could detect, I still hung them up outside for a few days, should I re-dye and wax them or should they be okay? If they're okay I'll just put them back in the totes. Thanks

I would use them as is. It wouldn't hurt to let them hang outside for a few days.

They should be OK.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

If you think you'll have a problem just rewax no need to dye again. I did this with some traps a few years ago because there was what looked like slight mold on outside of traps

I have a couple crates full that were boiled and waxed last year and never used. I set them outside a month ago so any smells in them could dissipate and I won’t hesitate to set em. In sealed totes is even better.

I toss a few pine cones and oak leaves in my totes.
