Our season allows us to fish til Mid October now. One guy told me October is a good time to catch trout. I haven't tried it more than once in October, I guess it's hard to find the time.

To answer your question AJE yes otters are very tough on trout of all sizes . I've had some great days trout fishing when I lived close to the Bighorn river I fished every month of the year and otters caused trouble for many a trout and in some cases trout fishers ha ha Allan

I caught this brown two weeks ago. 26 3/4” and 9.14 lbs

Nov. is a better month, the Seeforellen spawn later than the typical German Browns do. And they are much bigger. My biggest is 36" so far. We can't inland trout fish later than 10/15 in my area though, except maybe on 1 lake.
