I have 3 sets of tire chains that I would like to sell but I have no idea what size to call them. They are aprox. 72 in long and 13 1/2 in across. Does anybody have a formula to figure what size tire these fit.

Good question. Even when buying them in the box, you just can't be sure they over lap the tread enough without trying them on. You want a big over lap so they dont shift to the side. I use chains a lot here in Pa.....jk

check the length closely. If 6 feet or 72 inches is the correct amount then using the formula C =pi times the diameter pi is 3.14 you can work back to see what will make 72 inches.
Roughly about 23 inch diameter times pi would equal 72 inches. This should give you a start. You could also lay one section out on the ground drive your pickup or car over and see if it fits or not. You can collect the three numbers on the sidewall of your tire and go to a place and they can tell you the size of the chains you need for that tire.
