So I have a turkey been In the field for days so I went to check it out. I believe it's blind, and has warts looking things all over its head. I finally flushed it up after getting 3 feet from it and it flew and crashed into the tee limbs. My question is is there a diease I know deer get those warts all over them that turkeys can get? Healed over shotgun pellets if not?? If it comes back around I'll get a picture of it.

Blackhead disease, they get it from chickens. It doesn't bother chickens as much but its deadly to turkeys.

Will they seperate themselves or get booted from the flock. I mean it warts were over its eyes maybe it just lost them by not seeing? Will I have to worry about all my wild turkeys killing off? I watch them every morning.

do you feed the turkeys?
Are they in close proximity to domestic fowl?

I personally think a well-placed pill would help it out.

LPDV is a fairly new disease to the USA. It came from Europe
And it can affect domestic flocks
Kill it and dispose of it

Definitely cull it and burn it, before it gets spread to the rest. Hopefully it’s not too late. Might wanna get fish and wildlife involved so you don’t end up in trouble

We had a couple turkeys on my place with the Avian Pox. Disgusting affliction that must be a horrid way to croak. I blasted both and the DNR came and got them. One hen, one tom. The tom had it so bad it was even in it's mouth and throat. The one bird smelled so bad I nearly puked after putting it in the back of my Tahoe. The second one went in a garbage bag and was left by a tree in my yard for the DNR guy to grab.
