Any court decisions she make in favor of owning firearms and especially for owning semi-automatic firearms and in regards to gun registration. Fox News said the second amendment will be one of the topics discussed in her nomination process. Looking forward to hearing her remarks.

I believe she issued a statement that non-violent felons shouldn't have their 2A rights taken away.

I think the other side of the isle, as they call it, has already made up there minds! If she came up with a cure for Cancer AND AIDS, they would still vote NO!

I agree partly with that. I believe that there should be a pathway to regain civil rights for felons but not given back automatically.

This was the only 2A decision I found. I don't remember the state but the guy has a felony conviction for shipping shoe inserts to doctors that weren't approved my medicare (or something like that). Coney wrote a 37 page dissenting opinion that he should get his 2A rights back.

I tried to find more 2A stuff but didn't have any luck. She's an unknown. Since the only chance those of us in NJ have to get our 2A rights back is SCOTUS, I'm hoping she's solid.

If I was a democrat, I’d shoot myself. lol

No seriously, if I was a dem, I would vote for her and work on burying the hatchet. This election and the next 4 years are going to be historic.

Even worse, they could be dying of the worst possible and would refuse the cure.

Kameltoe is already on record refusing a covid vaccine if Trump has anything to do with it.

That might work out okay.
We have RINO's. Is there such a thing as DINO's? Or just DIM's...not real bright.

Wife and I were having this discussion the other day. I'm not a felon and don't really even know many, so I have no skin in the game, but I believe they should get their rights back. She thought more along the pathway, which I would agree with if there was some sort of violence that led to them being a felon. You don't lose your 1st amendment, or 4th, or 5th, or any other right after you've served your time, so why lose the 2nd? I didn't see anywhere in the bill of rights that you should be stripped of all rights for life after paying a debt to society but I could have missed it? ACB will make a great justice.

The permanent federal 2A ban for felons is a recent thing only being enacted with the GCA of 1968, 52 years ago. Prior to that it was standard practice that once a sentence and probation was complete a person returned as a full citizen on the federal level. However, many states had such restrictions. Historically as part of the "Black Codes" that were put in place during times of slavery and later carried forward into Jim Crow.
While I won't adopt the attitude of the left and say systemic many of our "reasonable" gun control measures are historically racist.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if a person is too dangerous to walk the streets with the full rights of a citizen, they are too dangerous to be out of prison. If they have paid the price for their crimes enough to be out of prison, then they should be fully restored to the constitutional level of citizenship. Of course the biggest issue is that the very definition of a "right" according to our constitution is "something the government can't take away" (paraphrased). The fact that our judicial branch has been legally stripping citizens of rights for 52 years, and many conservatives support it, is appalling.

I would go so far as to say this: You are not a constitutionalist if you support the stripping of constitutional rights from any citizen, for any reason.

Like Warrior pointed out, the origin of felons losing the right to own guns and vote was a racist strategy passed by racist democrats, and still is. The party that was always racist is still racist, no matter how well they present the guise of being the minorities' friends.

Good info. Too many laws made in general and mostly for all the wrong reasons.
