I'm looking to develop a new system for making trapping notes besides just writing down what bait or lure I use at a set. How do some of yall keep notes on your traplines and how extensive are they?

I imagine everyone uses electronics nowadays.
In the old days a small notebook was handy if you remember to add to it.Some did it as they go-others at the end of the day.If you constantly pull some traps, leave some, and set new spots it is almost necessary on a longer line to keep track-especially when pulling everything at the end of the run.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I mark my sets with phone app and # them there also, then put the number in a note pad on singe page, date, trap, set type, lure bait urine, results, species male/female ( undecided), and date of catch then remake or pull. I glance over notes during season a little, but interesting to compare year to year. Sometimes fur quality but that normally gets forgot by the end of season.

I usually only keep three lures in my bucket. If a location is good three sets go in with 3 different lures plus urine on the cat canine sets.

Note pad in pocket. Log book in truck. I've went swimming more than once. I don't take electronics out on the line but leave in the truck
